Tell them they are welcome here and can have their own forums as well, with full rights to moderate them as they wish (which we already offer although it's not publicised much). Past disagreements and bickering aside those are guys I've played with for over a decade and I don't want to see such experienced players leave the scene. Had a game with a few of them some weeks ago and they reminded me that they are still the best ArmA players (skill-wise) I've played with.
Keep the OGN name, just come up with some other meaning for the acronym, and then when OGN comes back on they're free to go back there if need be, but ffs tell them continually attempting to rebuild with fewer and fewer members, and not being willing to put in the hard yards, won't pay off. They need to rebuild their numbers and try to bring back some of the oldies. I think both parties would benefit if they had forums hosted here.
Also, I can supply a lot of members and contact details if they want to get the word out to past members to help bring them in.
P.S.
What they'd get:
- Clan logos below the name (see SnR's post in this thread for example)
- sub-domain (eg: ogn.ausarma.org)
- Group homepage (for an example see http://www.ausarma.o...n-armed-forces/ )
- Mass PM to all clan/group members
- Assign staff/moderators for your forums
- Set permissions for public, members, admins to own forums
- Custom forum skin (if wanted)
- can add pages to front-page (if someone is willing to contribute to our News updates)
The current ASO forum is also fine, but I doubt many new/old players will ever find it (I've done lots of searches on OGN trying to find out what happened, but nothing on Whirpool, OCAU, UGN, XGN, etc). Suprised no-one even updated GameTracker or Steam groups.
