The RPG which will never go away

Just for Shits and Giggles we have placed it up, of course all credit goes to those that created it and maintain it.

At least you're hosting it, AEF. and not those goons that ban someone for breaking a rule that they just made up.

I'm sorry, but I can't believe people play this. And this is for a few reasons (I'll list the main ones)

1) is that it rewards those guys who have been on for literally hours and hours, who have built up ridiculous sums of money and can now buy and do anything, I mean, you have to play for a considerable amount of time to be able to afford a gun, (or grab one of a mate). Some may say we'll in warfare, it rewards the guy who plays the most because he can buy choppers and stuff, this is true, but no cigar, because a stinger costs what, $400, any man worth his mustard can take down a plane in one rocket as most pilots will do low swooping pases etc., but then I hear you say, you can buy a stinger in this too, but in the fineprint you write, only cops, or civies who have the long earn't gun lincense for that weapon.

2) is that its an RPG, I woud way rather play GTA or heaven forbid, WoW (i think WoW is RPG), before this, this ... ludicrosity (a new word)

3) in one foul swoop, your hundreds of dollars of crack cocaine or heroine can be snaffled up by some stupid OA bug causing your truck to flip or you to CTD and bang goes your 2 hours (not tht i've ever invested 2 hours into this).

Sure I can understand how it may be fun for the person who hasn't played it much before, but you'll soon realise how incredibly frustrating this game is and how your time could've much better been invested in playing a half hour of PvP where you'll kill more humans anytime or playing a good Co-op. My other pet hate is ... urgh ... domi. I have seen the light and realised in these past weeks, that urgh .. so wheres the next main? We won a humvee? You mean we do this again once were finished?

I cant believe it either, im sure it has the interim wow factor for those who are just adjusting to their new milsim  OA.
No one should take its contents or genre serious :problem: Only AEF admins requested to eliminate griethers will.

My first go of OA was on zargabad life last night, I couldn't get the pole at the workplaces to work so I just drove around and waited for my money to build up, when I had enough for a pistol they were out of stock so i bought a fishing pole, I had just sold fish and got 10,000 for it, then 2 guys rolled up on an ATV and I got shot in the back by hatsune miku. I then quit and played around with the editor and checked the new stuff. I don't know but I think that arma 2 needs a new RPG mission that isn't a template of chernarus life, perhaps a little more combat focused seeing as in the end everyone wants to get a gun and try to shoot some cops. I think perhaps instead of civilians it could be changed to terrorist cells running errands and waging their own wars and the us marines doing their best to find camps (which the player can build and earn assets from) and keep the order. A player from the enemy (non-US side) could create their own cell and run it like a gang, each cell could compete to make things more interesting.

Ok, well i remember a game mode from counter strike, it was pretty simple, it goes as follows ...

One team are prisoners, one team are the prison guards.
Prison gards start off and get to pick a gun from a whole variety.
Prisoners start off in cells. Some of the cells (about 3) have damaged walls in the back of which an inmate can escape through. Some cells (about 2) have a pistol hidden in them.
Guards open cell doors and allow the prisoners out for their rec time where they have to control them/ supervise. Obviously you have about 3 prisoners to 1 guard so people go missing, prisoners find guns, pretty soon you have a prison revolt on your hands, but guards can't shoot those without guns etc.,

Was fun for a few times then decided it was a bit stupid and went back to normal CS

(this was before I found ArmA 1)

I reckon the US Border Patrol vs Drug Traffickers would be a better scenario. Border guys have to construct a secure border and Drug Traffickers have to find ways to get past them etc. The who cop and robbers thing needs to much role playing and its a bit creepy I think :problem:
